North Wales seaside properties up for auction

The summer may well be drawing to a close, but two seaside properties in North Wales are expected to excite the market at an auction next month.

The houses in the thriving resorts of Llandudno and Prestatyn are appearing at the SDL Auctions Cheshire and North Wales auction at Chester Racecourse on Wednesday 13 September.

The end of terrace house at 100 Conway Road in Llandudno has six bedrooms over three floors, and comes with a *guide price of £125,000 to £150,000+.

Edward Feather, auctioneer at SDL Auctions Cheshire and North Wales, said: “This house needs renovation but offers plenty of potential for a lucky buyer to create a wonderful family home.

“Alternatively the size of the property could lend itself to conversion into flats, subject to planning permission, and with just a short drive to the north shore it’s likely to draw some strong bidding.

Meanwhile, a semi-detached, three-bedroomed house at 22 Pen Y Maes in Meliden, just two miles south of Prestatyn, comes with a guide price of just £70,000+.

Mr Feather added: “This delightful house in the quiet village of Meliden would make an excellent investment or first-time purchase.

“It needs some refurbishment but occupies a slightly elevated position and enjoys far reaching views towards the coast and Irish Sea.”

Another North Wales lot expected to excite the market is the two-bedroomed Felin Gadeg Cottage standing on a one-acre plot near Llansannan, near Denbigh, with a guide price of £165,000+.

Mr Feather added: “This cottage is set in an idyllic location and benefits from a paddock to one side and a forge to the front which could be used for stabling or garaging, subject to planning permission.

“The property is superbly positioned with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, with farm land to the rear and sizable gardens with views over the passing Aled river.”

There are a total of 24 lots appearing at the auction on Wednesday 13 September, including:

  • An end-terraced, three-bedroomed property at 6 Phillip Street in Hoole, Chester, with a guide price of £120,000+.
  • A detached, four-bedroomed house at 56 Long Lane in Upton, Chester, with a guide price of £225,000+.
  • A detached bungalow called Briarcroft on Church Road, in the beautiful village of Dodleston near Chester, with a guide price of just £150,000.

The auction takes place at Chester Racecourse from 2pm on Wednesday 13 September. The full auction catalogue can be foundhere, and lot details can be viewed at www.sdlauctions.co.uk.
