We valued iconic “The Sims” houses if they were real life

From large gothic mansions with pools to sleek penthouses and cosy cottages, The Sims make it easy to create your dream house with just a few clicks of your mouse. Not to mention all the beautiful premade mansions and homes for the favoured iconic families. But have you ever stopped to wonder what these would cost in real life? We know we have!

While a lot of your favourite Sims houses may seem pretty affordable in simoleons (especially with a few ‘motherlode’ cheats thrown in), in real life, a three-story mansion with a pool wouldn’t go for only $200,000, and even the smaller houses like the Bachelor family home may surprise you in just how much the real-life counterpart would sell for.

From the lavish life of the Landgraabs to the modest home of the Brokes, with such amazing houses, both big and small, it only seems fitting that we here at SDL Property Auctions take a look at these famous Sims buildings and see how much they’d be worth in real life in 2025.

Landgraab Mansion

Of course, we have to start with one of the most iconic houses in the game. This family appears in many of the Sims games and expansion packs. The Landgraab mansion is arguably the most expensive property in the game, as they enjoy a life of luxury thanks to the Landgraab Industries business they run.

Their elegant home is usually in the most exclusive circle in town with four fireplaces, a massive kitchen, formal and informal living areas, a large pool, a two-car garage, and elegant neoclassical landscaping. For a house of this grandeur, in real life would probably be close to £3 million in 2025, proving that the Landgraabs enjoy a very comfortable life with the most expensive property in the Sims.

Goth Mansion

The Goths are a very well-loved Sims family, and their home is just as iconic as they are. Their home stands out from the rest in town. This family is featured in many of the Sims games alongside the Landgraabs, and in every game, their home changes slightly – apart from the gothic style and grandeur.

Their mansion is of a similar size to the Landgraab’s, but with more of an English Gothic style; think pointed, church-like roofs, bay windows and archways. A lot of the time, their mansion also includes a graveyard on their property, further adding to their bold aesthetic, affecting the value of their home. For a house of this style and size, we imagine this sort of property, around a suburban area, would be looking at around £1 million in 2025.

Pleasant Home

The Pleasant Family Home changes a lot from game to game, so we’re going to specifically focus on the Sims 2 Pleasant Family Home. Nestled on Sim Lane, the Pleasant Home has a simoleon worth around $102,000, but in real life, this detached, three-bedroomed, three bathroom home would be worth around £350-450k, not too dissimilar to this detached house in Rugeley.

Alto Home

Although they only made their first appearance in The Sims 3, the Altos quickly became one of the most popular households alongside the Landgraabs and the Goths. The Altos live in a large villa, and this executive home features multiple living areas and a stately home office. It features two bedrooms as well as two and a half bathrooms, alongside a pool, a balcony and a large garden area. It’s quite similar to this cottage in Belper and would probably go for around £550-£650k in real life.

Bachelor Home

Yet another family who have made appearances in many of the games. This family is often seen with a decent-sized family home. In The Sims 3, the Bachelors live in a home that consists of three floors, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and it’s topped off with a nice garden area. Coming complete with a balcony and parking space, we speculate that a home like this would go for around the same price as the Alto family home, at around £550-£650k.

Broke Home

As the name ironically suggests, the Broke’s house is notoriously one of the cheapest houses in the game. However, the Sims 2 version of the Broke household features a detached, two-bedroomed property with a pool, and while it may be cheap in the game, in real life, a property like this would probably go for around £300k-£400k in 2025.

Mom’s House

Mom’s House is where the game begins in the original The Sims for PlayStation. It’s your very typical American-style one-bed bungalow, white picket fence included. We reckon in the real world, Mom’s House would be worth something like £160k, similar to this detached bungalow in Chester that we’ve recently sold at auction.

Casa Caliente

The Calientes are another classic Sims family that has appeared in multiple games; however, we’re going to be focusing on their Sims Bustin’ Out home for this one. This classic Caliente home consists of a huge living room, a large kitchen, a tiny bathroom and a small bedroom… and, like other Sims houses, also has a pool in the backyard. We would estimate that for a family home of this size, it would probably be around £300-£400k in real life!

Darius’ Penthouse

Appearing in the Sims Urbz, which is an older Sims game based around city life and urban fashion. In this Sims game, Darius’ penthouse is the final place that your sim resides, making it the crème de la crème of all properties throughout the game. It’s got everything from a helipad to a hot tub, making this suave property a luxury one indeed. A penthouse this grand and in a bustling city centre, no less, would probably come in around the £4.5m mark. Which, you could say, is expected for his “Superstar” status.
