Sell by auction in Leicester before Christmas

The auction, on Thursday 24th November at the King Power Stadium, will be SDL Graham Penny’s sixth city auction this year and as all lots sell under auction conditions, completion will take place before Christmas.

Andrew Parker, auctioneer and managing director, commented: “Now is an excellent time to sell by auction for many reasons. Anyone who owns a vacant house might want to sell it with us before the clocks change and the cold weather causes problems with the pipes and leaves a big plumbing bill. Or maybe landlords might have one or two properties to dispose of which will need upgrading soon and they don’t want to incur the refurbishment costs.

“It doesn’t matter if the property is vacant or tenanted, if it’s been recently renovated or needs a full scheme of upgrading – in fact those properties can often sell the best in the auction room.”

Amongst the lots selling well in the Leicester auction room last month were 36 Millfield Close in Ashby de la Zouch, a three bedroomed semi-detached house which requires modernisation which sold for £143,000 from a *guide price of £125,000+ and 34 Sybil Road in Rowley Fields, a three bedroomed semi-detached house in need of modernisation and with scope for extension which sold for £170,500 from a guide price of £135,000+.
