2017 Derby auctions highlights

With the end of the year approaching, Robert Stone, Senior Valuer, at SDL Auctions Graham Penny Derby takes time to reflect and look back as SDL Auctions celebrates another successful year breaking a number of records.

What stood out for me was the success of our September auction; with literally hundreds of people registered to bid which got the auction off to a great start and led to a fantastic success rate of 90% and £6.7m raised in sales.

As the highest total raised from any auction in Derby since this time last year, it just shows how the property market is maintaining strength.

The first lot in the auction, an end of terrace, three bedroomed house at 6 Shakespeare Street in Sinfin, near Derby, sold particularly well with lots of excited bidding seeing the hammer fall at £78,000 from a guide price of £25,000+.

Green Bank, 28 Sunny Hill in Milford, an attractive stone-built four bedroomed detached house situated on a 0.294 acres plot sold for an impressive £352,000 from a guide price of £250,000+.

Another lot that attracted an impressive sale price was a semi-detached, three bedroomed house at 27 Rykneld Road in Littleover, near Derby, located close to the noted Littleover Community School catchment area, which sold for £177,000.

The last 12 months at Pride Park have been a successful run through for our sale prices reaching £30 million across Derby.

As the UK’s largest auction network outside of London, we have 40 auction dates in our 2018 auction calendar and we are already inviting entries for our first Pride Park Stadium auction on Thursday 22nd February.

So if you haven’t considered selling by auction before, but you think it might be for you, get in touch and be one of our success stories in 2018!
