Pub, three banks and an Indian restaurant appearing at Birmingham auction
A pub, three banks and a popular curry house all go under the hammer at SDL Auctions Bigwood’s next auction in Birmingham on Wednesday 18 October.
The Norton Bar & Grill is a large detached pub and restaurant on Station Road in Coleshill, near Birmingham, with a commercial kitchen, spacious bar and dining areas, and private living accommodation above.
The property, which has an undisclosed *guide price, also has an external bar area, beer garden and smoking shelter, and parking for around ten cars.
Ian Tudor, head of commercial auctions at SDL Auctions, said: “The Norton is based within a popular commercial area next to Coleshill Parkway train station and close to the town centre.
“It offers a good opportunity to be run as a food and drink establishment, but it could also be suitable for alternative uses subject to necessary planning permission.”
The three former NatWest bank branches appearing at auction are in Coventry, Warwick and Leicester, and all include a former banking hall, several interview rooms and offices.
The Coventry bank is a two-storey property of approximately 2,484 sq ft at 519 and 521 Foleshill Road, a busy retail location about a mile north east of the city centre. This has a *guide price in excess of £225,000+.
The Warwick bank is a period-style property of approximately 1,972 sq ft at 26 High Street, in the heart of the city centre. It has a *guide price in excess of £250,000+.
This lot comes with a cashpoint to be let to NatWest for five years after completion at £4,000 per annum, following a three month rent-free period.
The Leicester bank is a two-storey property of approximately 2,026 sq ft at 92 Queens Road, a popular retail area between the University of Leicester and the city centre.
It also comes with a cashpoint to be let to NatWest for five years, this time at £2,500 per annum. It has a *guide price in excess of £205,000+.
Mr Tudor said: “These former banks are rare opportunities to purchase properties in great locations, and could all be put to alternative uses subject to planning permission.”
Over in the Black Country, the huge India Gates restaurant and function room at 6-8 Mount Pleasant in Bilston is appearing at auction, with a *guide price in excess of £450,000+.
Mr Tudor added: “This rich mix of commercial properties are great examples from what we predict will be a busy auction.”
