Nottinghamshire bungalow would make the ideal retirement property

Bungalows are always popular with buyers so 35 Scargill Avenue, Newthorpe, is likely to attract enthusiastic bidding when it goes under the hammer at SDL Auctions Graham Penny’s next auction in Nottingham.

The detached bungalow, which has a *guide price of £95,000+, has two double bedrooms and would make an excellent retirement property, having a low-maintenance garden and being close to supermarkets, convenience stores, doctor’s surgery and post office. In addition, the Giltbrook Shopping Park is nearby, with its restaurants and shops including Boots and an IKEA superstore.

The well-equipped property, which has uPVC double glazing throughout and partial gas central heating, features a modern fitted kitchen diner with white units and integrated appliances including a stainless steel electric oven with a four ring gas hob. This leads through double panelled doors to the front sitting room with ceiling coving and a wall-mounted gas fire.

Off the sitting room is an inner lobby with loft access and full height fitted cupboard housing the combination boiler. This leads to the two double bedrooms, both with fitted wardrobes, and the bathroom, which has a white three-piece suite with shower.  In addition, there is a uPVC double glazed conservatory.

The freehold bungalow is set back from the road on a gently elevated plot with parking at the front, plus a side garage which has been converted to a useful store room. There is an enclosed low maintenance garden at the back of the property.

Laura Wiles, valuer at SDL Auctions Graham Penny, said: “This would make a great retirement property as it is all on one level, has a low maintenance garden and is close to all the amenities you could need. I can see this being snapped up either by an owner occupier looking for a bungalow they can move straight into, or a landlord looking to add to their portfolio with a property which is sure to be much in demand.”

As well as the amenities provided by Newthorpe itself, the bungalow is within easy reach of the wider range of shops and amenities of Eastwood town centre. It is just a few minutes’ drive to the A610, which provides swift access to the M1 motorway and Nottingham city centre, and there are regular buses into Eastwood and Nottingham.

The property is due to be sold at SDL Auctions Graham Penny’s auction at Nottingham Racecourse on Tuesday 9 April and will feature in a bumper East Midlands auction catalogue alongside lots from Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, as well as those being sold via online auction.
