Life is sweet for Bacup commercial property in Manchester auction
Anyone with a sweet tooth in Lancashire could be attracted to a shop going under the hammer in the next SDL Auctions North West auction in Manchester on 12 December.
The retail property at 260b Newchurch Road in Bacup, formerly rented out as The Little Sweet Shop for £3,380 per annum, has previously attracted a healthy level of interest from local business owners and comes with a *guide price of £35,000+.
And life could be even sweeter as the end terrace unit comes with consent to erect four advertising hoardings to the gable end wall, with one agreement already producing £500 per annum.
Howard Elliot-Jones, commercial auction surveyor at SDL Auctions North West, said: “This is an interesting opportunity to not only own a shop producing healthy rent but also to develop regular extra advertising income.
“The property is about 1.5 miles from Bacup town centre and fronts onto the A681 Newchurch Road in an area with mixed commercial and residential occupiers, producing good custom for the shop.”
The former sweet shop is just one of more than 50 lots going under the hammer in what will be the biggest ever SDL Auctions North West auction since it expanded into the region in April this year.
The SDL Auctions North West auction at the AJ Bell Stadium starts at 12.30pm on Tuesday 12 December, and the full auction catalogue can be viewed here.
