Hit the beach from your own seaside apartment – with a guide price of just £5,000+

Auctioneers are expecting a wave of interest when a seaside apartment goes under the hammer in Nottingham next month – with a *guide price of just £5,000+.

Life could be a beach for the bidder who nets themselves Flat 8, 36 Scarborough Avenue, Skegness, which is due to be sold by SDL Auctions Graham Penny auction at Nottingham Racecourse on Friday 9 August.

Laura Wiles, valuer at SDL Auctions Graham Penny, said: “Living in landlocked Nottinghamshire, we can’t get enough of the seaside and Skegness has long been a particular favourite of people in this area. With a guide price as low as £5,000+, we expect to see a huge amount of interest.”

And Laura believes it will appeal to a wide variety of buyers, too.

“This studio apartment would make the perfect ‘lock up and leave’ retreat for weekend and holiday visits, a holiday home for letting out, a buy-to-let property or a chance for a first-time buyer to get on the property ladder in a coastal location. There are many uses for a property of this type and I’m confident this will be reflected in the auction room.”

Within walking distance of both the beach and the local high street, the top-floor studio apartment comprises a lounge/kitchen/bedroom area and a bathroom. It is believed there are more than 90 years left on the lease, and a peppercorn ground rent is payable.

Located in a popular residential area of Skegness, the flat is surrounded by guest houses and close to St Matthew’s Church. Tower Gardens are just two streets away and the Hildreds Shopping Centre is a six-minute walk.

As expected from such a popular seaside resort, there are cafés, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues galore, including swimming pools, an independent cinema and the famous Pleasure Beach theme park, all within walking distance of the apartment.

And getting to the property will be no problem, thanks to regular public transport from Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, London and more to bus and railway stations which are within a 10-minute walk of the flat. Street parking is available for motorists.

Laura added: “Skegness is probably the most accessible coastal resort from Nottingham, and if you love the beach, then what could be better than your own seaside escape?”
