Fire-damaged house in Bolton offered with low guide price in Manchester auction

A house in Bolton damaged by fire with a competitive *guide price of just £39,000+ is a star lot in SDL Auctions North West’s first auction of 2018.

The end of terrace, two bedroomed property at 12-14 Slater Street is one of 54 lots in the catalogue for the auction in Manchester on 28 February.

The house is just a short distance from Bolton town centre and requires a full scheme of renovation and improvement works.

Andy Thompson, senior valuer at SDL Auctions North West, said: “While it’s sad that this property has suffered some fire damage, it represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a house for development.

“We are advised that the property is in a poor state of repair and partly fire-damaged so internal viewings will not be possible.

“But the house was formerly two separate houses which have been converted into one large property, so it could be ideal to convert it back into separate homes, subject to gaining the necessary consents.”

Other lots filling the pages of the auction catalogue include a selection of flats and houses across the north west, with guide prices ranging £10,000+ to £150,000+.

Mr Thompson added: “We’ve got a great range of properties to suit the needs of all buyers, and we’re expecting a busy evening in the auction room.”

The SDL Auctions North West auction takes place at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester on Wednesday 28 February. The full catalogue can be viewed here and is combined with the lots from the SDL Auctions Cheshire & North Wales auction the day before at Chester Racecourse.
