Final Chester Racecourse auction of 2016 raises £1m

9th December 2016 – SDL Auctions, the fourth largest auction network in the UK, has completed its 2016 Chester Racecourse auction calendar in style by raising £1m at its latest auction.

The auction, on Tuesday 6th December at Chester Racecourse, raised £1m in sales for its vendor clients and saw the total sales for the year for the North West team top an impressive £7m.

Auctioneer Edward Feather commented: “The auction result this month is an excellent way to end the year. We had a really busy auction room with plenty of buyers, as well as bidders on the phone and by proxy. We achieved some excellent results and have some very happy vendors this Christmas.”

Amongst the properties selling well in the auction room were:

  • CheDec CoedAben111 Coed Aben in Wrexham – a three bedroomed end of terrace property in need of a program of refurbishment which sold for £53,000 from a *guide price of £45,000+
  • 24 Artillery Row in Bodelwyddan – a large two bedroomed semi-detached house which sold for £80,000 from a guide price of £75,000-£90,000
  • Apartment 10, Gawer Court in Chester – a two bedroomed first floor apartment. It had a guide price of £110,000+ and sold for £126,500
