Bumper month of auctions for SDL Property Auctions as lots span all four corners of the country

A trio of live-streamed auctions featuring lots spanning all four corners of the country will bring another successful month for SDL Property Auctions to a close.

From the north of Scotland down to the Devon coast, and stretching from Swansea in the west to Felixstowe in the east, the lots going under the hammer comprise all types of property to suit a wide range of budgets, from million-pound investments to small parcels of land. 

The most northerly lot is just one of many investment opportunities in Scotland being sold in a dedicated  live-streamed commercial property auction hosted by SDL Property Auctions for leading Scottish chartered surveyors Shepherd on Tuesday 19th October. 144-148 High Street in Elgin is a ground-floor retail unit fitted out but not used as a betting shop. It occupies a prominent position in the affluent tourist town and has a *guide price of £155,000+.

Managing director and auctioneer Andrew Parker said: “The commercial property market is currently very active as businesses reassess their office requirements. While some companies downsize as their staff continue to work remotely, others are seeking extra space such as warehousing to meet a growing demand for online shopping. It’s a period of change and the commercial property market reflects this.”

This activity is evident in SDL Property Auctions’ bumper National Property Auction on Thursday 28th October, which features a wide variety of residential and commercial properties in its catalogue of more than 220 lots nationwide – making it the country’s biggest live-streamed auction for the third month in a row. 

Among them is a mixed-use property in Felixstowe, on the East coast. 27 Beach Station Road features a ground-floor commercial unit which has recently been refurbished, with part-completed residential accommodation on the first floor. The flexible accommodation would be suitable for a business such as an estate agency, small convenience store or hairdressing salon, and offers the potential to convert to full residential use, subject to planning permission. 

Heading further south to Torquay, bidders in the National Property Auction will find a spacious ground-floor flat with views across Torbay. Comprising an entrance hall, lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, Flat 5, Tor Dale, 33 Thurlow Road is currently let at £550 per calendar month and has a guide price of £30,000+.

In the west, a pair of semi-detached houses in Swansea are due to go under the hammer as two separate lots. 100G Swansea Road and 100H Swansea Road in Trebanos, Pontardawe each has three double bedrooms, a basement room, off-road parking and a rear garden. 100H is vacant and has a guide price of £64,000+, while 100G is offered for sale with a tenant in place with a guide price of £78,000+.

There are plenty of lots across London and the south of England, too, including an excellent opportunity to invest in an apartment block in sought-after Sevenoaks in Kent. Currently producing an annual income of £105,780, 49 and 49A Granville Road is a block of four self-contained one bedroomed flats, four self-contained studio flats and four units with shared shower rooms. It is being offered for sale with a guide price of £1.6m+ in the live-streamed Knight Frank auction hosted by SDL Property Auctions on Wednesday 27th October. 

At the same time, Timed Auctions run daily on the website with round-the-clock bidding, a method of sale which was given a major vote of confidence recently when SDL Property Auctions became one of the first auctioneers to partner with Rightmove to launch a new Bid to Purchase feature.
