SDL Auctions Graham Penny raises £3m at latest Derby auction
10th April 2017 – SDL Auctions Graham Penny, one of the largest auction networks in the UK, has held its second successful Derby auction of the year raising over £3m for vendor clients.
The auction, on Thursday 6th April at Pride Park Stadium, saw 45 residential and investment properties, commercial properties, development sites, building plots and land go under the hammer in front of a busy room of bidders and the Homes under the Hammer TV crew.
Andrew Parker, auctioneer and managing director, commented: “Our auction catalogue this month attracted significant interest prior to the auction so we knew we would see some competitive bidding in the auction room.
“Several lots had multiple bidders in the room, on the phone, by proxy and via the internet which drove up the sale prices and left us with some very happy vendors.”
Amongst the lots selling well under the hammer this month were:
- 5 Shaldon Drive in Littleover – a traditionally-built three bedroomed semi-detached house with the potential to extend subject to the usual planning consents which sold for £168,000 from a *guide price of £115,000+.
- 98 Booth Street in Alvaston – a double-fronted three bedroomed semi-detached house with a guide price of £55,000+ and which sold for £88,000.
- 5 Chapel Street in Swanwick – a double-fronted three bedroomed detached house which sold for £92,000 from a guide price of £50,000+.
- 12 Grace Crescent in Heanor – a traditionally built three bedroomed semi-detached house in a convenient cul-de-sac location. It sold for £88,000 from a guide price of £55,000+.
SDL Auctions is one of the UK’s largest auction networks and in 2016 sold over 1,300 lots and raised more than £150m in sales for vendors. In 2017 SDL Auctions will hold 35+ auctions at Villa Park in Birmingham, Pride Park Stadium in Derby, Chester Racecourse, Nottingham Racecourse, the King Power Stadium in Leicester, the Macron Stadium in Bolton and the bet365 Stadium in Stoke.
Andrew added: “We are now looking ahead to our third Derby auction of the year on Thursday 8th June at Pride Park Stadium. Anyone looking to sell by auction should contact us to arrange a free no obligation auction appraisal.”
