Derby auction team invites entries for next sale

13th April 2017 – Having already raised more than £8m for sellers in Derby so far this year, SDL Auctions Graham Penny is looking ahead to its next city property auction and carrying out free appraisals for anyone looking to sell.

The auction, on Thursday 8th June at Pride Park Stadium, will be SDL Auctions’ third Derby auction of the year and its 15th in a calendar of 36 auctions across the SDL Auctions national network.

Andrew Parker, auctioneer and managing director, commented: “We have experienced busy auction rooms at all our venues so far this year which has led to competitive bidding and some excellent sale prices achieved for our vendor clients. Selling property by auction is growing in popularity as sellers know that on the fall of the hammer the sale is secured and contracts are exchanged immediately.”

Amongst the lots which sold well in the auction room this month were:

  • 82 Grosvenor Street in Derby – a three bedroomed palisaded mid-terraced property which had a *guide price of £57,000+ and which sold for £66,000.
  • 151 Lower Dale Road in Derby – a part renovated two/three bedroomed palisaded mid-terraced property which sold for £64,000 from a guide price of £49,000+.
  • 1 St. Johns Road in Smalley – a three bedroomed detached house requiring a scheme of improvements and offering the potential for an extension subject to planning consents. It sold for £191,000 from a guide price of £155,000+.

SDL Auctions is one of the UK’s largest auction networks and in 2016 sold over 1,300 lots and raised more than £150m in sales for vendors. In 2017 SDL Auctions will hold 35+ auctions at Villa Park in Birmingham, Pride Park Stadium in Derby, Chester Racecourse, Nottingham Racecourse, the King Power Stadium in Leicester, the Macron Stadium in Bolton and the bet365 Stadium in Stoke.

Andrew added: “Anyone looking to sell by auction can contact us for a free valuation and appraisal where one of our valuers can advise what price to expect to achieve in the auction room, along with discussing timescales and fees.”
